Damon Clarke macrophotography mimic

Damon Clarke was born in 1972 in Canada and is still working in Canada. He has been a photographer since the day he could remember. He was recently nominated for the International Color Award's Photography Master's Cup for Wildlife Photographer Of The Year. He is mainly just a macro-photographer. His goal is to show people the beautiful miniature world around us and all of the small beauty that we often miss. His work can be found all around the world in galleries in North America, Europe, and Australia. His photos can also be found in school books, magazines, advertisements and even National Geographic Kids.

These are my macro photographs based on my interpretation of Damon's work. Macro photography is much harder than I was expecting but I loved it and I Hope you all enjoy!

damaged bark from a tree

little red ants

This is a little mass I found of animal hair and cob web on the side of the house. I loved how it looked completely different through a macro lens.

This is an old spider web I found on some rocks. It is sunset time and the sun is hitting the web just right causing a gorgeous shimmer.

this is a small leaf from a clover

miniature fern

showing the layers of the bark of a pine tree

This is a little beetle that was crawling around in the pine tree. I wasn't even looking for a bug at the time I just started snapping pictures of the tree and I noticed this little beetle camouflaged into the tree. I though it was such a lucky opportunity so I started snapping it. It was moving quite a bit so it took several shots.

This is the beetle as its crawling away.

These are the tiny pieces of sane from an ant hill that my red ants were crawling around in.

I am not quite sure what this is since it was so small but I believe it is a type of crumb that the ants carried because it was right around the ants and their hill.

This tiny bug is so small that I couldn't see it or find it with my own eyes. I was zooming in on this piece of grass and randomly I found this little yellow spot. I liked the color so I zoomed in closer and this is what I found.

Ant crawling on a speck of grass

spider webs

strange yellow plant I found in my garden not yet bloomed

spider web

small little green plant I found

pink little flower not yet bloomed

this plant I couldn't even tell it was fuzzy until I started taking pictures

And this is the link to Damon's work. I would've loved to attempt taking pictures of frogs but I couldn't find any unfortunately.

Light Graffiti

I have every intention of doing different types of light art now that I know what I am capable of creating but just with a couple lights and the bulb setting I have on my camera I was able to create these.
